Alain Laboile
Alain Laboile born may 1968 Bordeaux France . Alain is a macro photographer , but he was originally a sculptor , uni till 2004 when he putting a portfolio of his work together and whilst doing this developed an interest in macro photography and then began to create , What I think are amazing surreal image.
His passion for his images was first driven by entomology , but as he began to developed his growing family that was already at six children became his new inspiration and focus. he labelled this "A life on the edge ". These images were to show what I think is a surreal dream like side to child hood . This i think is a really interesting and creative idea because everything seems different in the eyes of a child almost like a warped dream and I think he has shown this in a great and unique way that is eye catching .
The technique of manipulating his images so they are stretched / warped , like in the image of the man and the small boy with the net has inspired me to try parts of this technique in my final piece.
This is because I think it would show the changing of the body / form in a really creative and abstract way . Which is what im aiming for.
This image is one of my favourite i love the way this is almost like a dream work being reflected in the water .
I also really like the way this image is composed with the subjects being central I think this emphasises the main focus on to the subjects.

I’m a father of six. Through my photographic work I celebrate and document my family life : a life on the edge of the world, where intemporality and the universality of childhood meet. Day to day I create a family album that constitues a legacy that I will pass on to my children. My work reflects our way of life, revolving around their childhood. My photographs will be the testimony of that. In a way my approach can be considered similar to the one of an ethnologist. Though my work is deeply personal, it is also accessible, addressing human nature and allowing the viewer to enter my world and reflect on their own childhoods. Fed everyday and shared with the world via the internet, my photographic production has become a mean of communication, leading to a questioning about freedom, nudity, being and having.
