studio shoot 2 test shots

 

 These are a range  of my images from my second studio shoot , for this I kept with the black back ground and black sheets underneath my subject. I then used a 2 light set up one of these having a soft box on . I then tried a range of different set ups for the lighting through out this shoot . I kept with having one key light and then the soft box light on lower , so my subject was lit brightly but still keeping the dark black back ground. 
I decided to take these images in black and white and colour so that I could have more freedom when editing . 
I experimented with full body shots and close ups , so that I could explore the body's curves in detail and also so I could make a compare sent between the two shots to decided on which to use for my final images.   I also think that have this range of images will work well when experimenting with overlaying my images in Photoshop.  
I also experimented with many different angles so I could see which works best for my final shots and which ones work together when overlays in image in Photoshop.
 

 

 

I think these images have turned out really well and I now have a good idea of the shots i want to use in my final images . I will use long body shots for sections of the body but I will cut the face out of these because I want to be exploring the body's form and not the identity of the person .

The lighting I think has works best in these shots is having the key light above the subject when they are laying down with a low light level with the side of there body . This is because the out line of the subject is then well lit on the still dark black back ground which is the effect I wanted . Then for when the subject is on there side of facing to the front the lighting i think worked best is using the key light with a soft box at there level as the key light and then a lower level light at the bottom or top of the body to light the out line so you can see the detail of the body. I also think that the black and white images work best because I prefer the dark and light tones rather than colour because it adds more focus to the shapes and lines in an image.

I will now experiment with the editing in camera raw and Photoshop to experiment with my ideas for my manipulated images . I will then upload and edit my hdr images and practice overlaying for before then then doing my final shoot.

This is my panoramic of Newark castle to make this I used 5 images i put each image into Photoshop and re sized them using the crop tool so that they were all the same size , I then put each image together so that they all joined on to create one image of the castle made up for 5 individual images.  

These are the original images I used after I had put them together I decided that they were slightly to dark , so I merged the layers and then changed the levels so that the image was brighter and the detail of the castle stood out more. i really like the way this turned out because i think the images peaced together really easily . the only thing I would try and do better next time is to check the exposure to make sure the skin links up with out any lines , but i found this difficult because the sun kept going behind the clouds.  i will also try and space the length of my images out next time so that i can create a longer image , I thunk I did the frames a bit too small but that was because I wasn't sure if i would miss bits if I moved the camera too far.

im looking into the world of erotic art and photography as research for part of my final idea /images , im doing this because I want push a slightly erotic feel to my final piece because this to me links the exploration of the human form and the emotion of power that i want to show in my images. 

The erotic art photography is a website that has formed a group of erotic photographers that have joined as guild (organisation) to produce erotic images that are then shown on one website : http://www.erotic-art-photography.com/page16.html 

This website has helped me in many ways with exploring future into the idea of bondage especially with the rules and regulations for the site because this helps with my research into the power and structure of bondage that i want to get across in my images. i also like the way in which this site in there own words aim to produce tasteful yet challenging photography which as i have said in my plan is to not just look at the sexual pornographic side but to  show beauty / power and emotion in my work in an artist way.

This first image is the about page from the website this explains in detail the organisations aims of what they want to achieve in there work. This is one of the first things  that lead me to explore this site in more detail because of the way there expressed there aim to use this genre of photography to produce tasteful works of art which I think separated this from a lot of the other site I found that showed a side more typical linked with the pornographic industry and not the artist side that I want to produce.

This second image is the code (rules) that the guild have set that each photographer has to stick to , this i think links with the control and power that is associated with bondage in its self , after reading through this it made me under stand the control side more . which then helped me to show this in my photography ideas now i had a deeper understanding . this also showed me that the way people persive this genre can be all wrong because if you look at the rules and set out around this particular site you can see it is very structured and not the outrageous unconventional practice that is some times though of.
this site has given me a lot of in site into the structure of the erotic industry and has helped me to under stand the  side of rules and regulations that come with the practice.
